Pretty authentic Korean BBQ, interactive and fun experience. Everything about it was great and better than expected. Everyone should try at least once.

I came here with high expectations. Expectations as a SoCal/NorCal snob that is! My fake expertise in Korean BBQ had to make sure this restaurant lives up to its "Oppa Gangnam Style" standard. And YES, my fellow Oregonians, I'm here to Californicate and ruin it for ya!
Eeeeeeeh sexy lady!!! Let's start with...
::::: Dining & Service :::::
A party of four, we arrived on a Friday night without reservations. No issues being seated as we arrived around 6pm. Slowly all the tables filled up as it did get busy. The overall dining area was square with about 14 large booths, and in-table grills with a smoke hood up above. Classic! So far, so good.
A pretty good choice for large groups I'd say. We were welcomed and seated. Service seemed fine, as the first guy did explain things to us regarding their specials, beer, and ordering. Later throughout the night, several other servers seemed to rotate from table to table. No issues with service. Water, beer, soju, ban chan refills, new grill swapping no problem!
::::: KBBQ Combos & Beer :::::
Ban chan was served, with only six items; Kimchi, fish cake, cucumbers kimchi'd, radish slices, a sweet sausage, and steamed broccoli. I was expecting at least eight dishes, but it's fine. No biggie, I guess! But its where I'd drop a star.
We went with Combo 1 ($180) which consists of pork belly slices (not spicy), rib-eye steak which was a pretty big cut, chicken bulgogi, sliced skirt steak, Angus brisket shavings, and a long strip of marinated beef ribs. Ugh, that's a lot of meat! We also had soup for sharing, as well as salad and rice. As for the meat variety itself, I felt it was as fresh as can be. No odor, the cuts were cold, nice flavoring, and some decent fatty marbling. This combo feeds about five to six people, but easily stuffed all four of us. AND they let us take our cooked meat leftovers home. No arguing about wasted food and getting charged extra for it; Add that star back!
Back to the price, so about $45 per person for the combo. The flavored soju bottles were $15.95 each as we had two, Sapporo $9, and Cass $8. Yeah, it added up! All pretty steep in my opinion (PSY), so minus a star again.
::::: Oppa Verdict :::::
I would go back, but not every weekend. Maybe once every four months to treat others. Being "pricey" is the reason why, but somewhat worth it for the quality and taste. I get it, everything is expensive now-a-days. Dining was clean, ambiance is chill, and service was pretty much 'on-point'. I do wanna try their bibimbap, mandu, and japchae some day. So yeah, I'll be back! This place passes the Cali-snob test!

Food was great! For first time beginners, though, for cooking your own Korean meats, they need to give you better instructions. Also, be careful if you wear shorts at the cooking tables the heating element underneath the table is really hot and my daughter burned her knee on it.

I've been a fan of Gangnam since the place opened several years back, and this time was no different! We wanted to get some Korean bbq, but wanted something a little more higher quality than AYCE without breaking the bank, which Gangnam absolutely delivered! We ended up getting the combo 3, with pork belly, brisket and bulgogi, and I was thoroughly impressed with just how much meat we got for the price. For just a couple bucks more than an AYCE here in Portland, we got amazing meat that absolutely delivered! Even though it wasn't AYCE, we still couldn't finish all the meat (the bulgogi size especially was huge) and ended up cooking it and taking it home, an added benefit!

These other reviews complaining about the food here know nothing of quality. If you want buffet level meat, go to a buffet. This place serves high quality beef and pork of various types and does a great job. The meat ISN'T supposed to be preseasoned. The service (typical Korean style, if you know you know) was friendly and the food was delicious. Yelp needs to weed out pretentious reviewers who think they know things when they really don't. Thanks Gangnam Bbq for great meal tonight celebrating a birthday and two people who are leaving for Korea tomorrow post-retirement. Even my 11 week old daughter had a great time!

Our friends invited us to a party, we had not tried Korean BBQ, the menu was huge. You can order the various meats a la cart.
We ordered the thinly sliced brisket, veggie fried rice and boneless spare ribs. The fun part is grilling your own food at your table.
They supply a variety os sides, kimchi, fish filled noodle, marinade radish's, mash potatoes and a few others. You also get a small dipping sauce for your meat. The meat quality was ok, the more you spend the better the meat quality.
The cost is $20-$150, depending on the various amounts of meats or combo you order. The serving size range from 1-5 people. So be ready to spend some money. The location is clean and bright.
Not sure if I would visit again, the cost to quality of meat did not add up for us.
The wait staff was very informative and friendly, they stopped by to check on us frequently. It was overall a fun place and a different style of restaurant.
